What is a revolution?
Why do revolutions occur?
Why do revolutions succeed or fail?
How do the outcomes of revolutions vary?
In this project, you are asked to write a children's book that teaches children (ages 7-10) about the revolution you have researched. This is the critical thinking element of this project, to turn your research into a story.
The story must follow a plot (a storyline) that has a beginning (where the characters, either fictional or historical figures from your research, are introduced and a setting is established), a middle (where the plot rises to a climax and where, I imagine, the events you researched are discussed), and an end (a conclusion where we learn about the impact or significance of the revolution).
Remember that the theme of your story must answer the following inquiry question:
In what way did the __________ revolution impact the lives of the people who lived through it, their society, and
their world?
Let's not worry about the length (the minimum of 10 pages) or the pictures/ illustrations that have been established in the project outline. While this would certainly add to the presentation of your storybook, if it is presenting a problem do not worry about it (marks will not be deducted). At the same time, consideration will be given to those who have added illustrations. All stories must have a title page.
*This is your only assignment for this week, so do the best work that you can. **Please submit/ send your stories by Friday to the following email: [email protected]
