*This is the very same "Extension" assignment from the previous post .....I thought it might be wise to re-post it as a reminder to everyone of the assignment that is due this week. Be creative and challenge yourself to think about what this might look like.
To those who have already completed it .....your drawings and paintings look AMAZING .....from a mystical dragon to a scene depicting a 'glorious' tree surviving on a barren land .....And your journals are truly inspiring.
Sketch/ Draw It
Think about the people, places, events and ideas that are most precious to you. Create a sketch/ drawing/ cartoon/ painting of your world, showing some of the things that make it a special place. Be creative. Then, in a journal, discuss "How would you feel if any of these things disappeared."
This assignment is due on May 02 at which time I will ask that you take a picture of your artistic representation that you will email along with your journal to: [email protected]
Eventually, both the artwork and the accompanying journal will be placed in your time capsule.
*As always, any questions, concerns, or confusions, please post on this website so that we can all have a better understanding of the project and what is being asked or required.
For Inspiration (?)
I thought this video might help offer some creative ideas for this assignment .....but maybe it might not and that's okay. Regardless, it is definitely worth watching.
Below you will find a TEDTalk entitled "An ode to living on Earth" by Oliver Jeffers who tries to explain to his newborn son what it means to be a human being living on earth in the 21st century. In this letter to his son, he shares pearls of wisdom on existence and the diversity of life. He offers observations of the "beautiful, FRAGILE drama of human civilization" in this poetic talk paired with his original illustrations and animations.
